You like?

I recieved some excellent feedback from you about what I should about my site design and layout. As you can see... I've made some changes. (if you are reading this in your RSS reader, click through and check out the new layout).

What do you think of then new site design? leave a message and let me know. I'm trying to make the site more readable, while improving the overall quality of the layout. The last design was way too cluttered and craptacular. Is this an improvement?

  1. It's different. Not as cluttered? possibly. It does look nice.

  2. Looking good! Nice and clean, which I like a lot. It looks like you cleared a bunch of stuff out of your sidebars.

One thing you might want to do is better divide your articles when more than one is showing. They kind of run together, at least to me. Looking at your current home page the horizontal bars in your articles are stronger divisions to my eye than the article headers.

  3. It looks great in Firefox, but I don't think it's what you expect in Chrome. Your content is covered with a huge black rectangle, making it impossible to read!

I assume that Safari is the same, as they both use WebKit

  4. looks ok for me on Safari 3.2.1 in OSX Leopard too. Phew! I was worried there for a sec... it could be a addon you have is messing with the layout... I dunno.

  5. You should be pimping the Open Game Table above the fold. Otherwise, looks like your standard "magazine" blog template. I'd rather see a Recent Comments or Popular Posts widget rather than Recent Posts, as you display a set of the most recent posts on the home page anyway.

  6. @ Kameron : I like your suggestions - thanks for the feedback. Once I have a some time, i'll probably make the changes. Need to find a good "popular posts" widget.. i know about feedjit, but I don't like the formatting...

  7. Looking very clean. Might add some contact info on your about page.

Now I feel like I need to give my blog a facelift...

  8. Ah! I figured it out! My company has all network traffic run through Privoxy, a content filter. They can block the sites they don't want us to see, and it has an ad-filter installed by default.

The problem is because the background image of '.contentwrapper' is in a folder called 'adstheme', which has the word 'ads' in it, and I'm pretty sure Privoxy flags that.

I'm really sorry for any confusion on my part.
