375 Blog Post Nominations to Open Game Table!

Last year we received only 135 nominations - this year there were nearly three times as many nominations!

375 BLOG POSTS NOMINATED!!!

Although a fair amount of "ballot stuffing" seemed to have occurred - which was expected - I still consider this a massive success. Ballot stuffing may have happened by fans or authors - as there's no way for me to tell. What's also kind of interesting is that some of the posts were nominated more than once - from different IP addresses - so there are clearly some real gems out there. Gems or not though, that is not for me to decide - that's the job of the Peer Review Panel. The 18 member panel (whose identities will be made public after the review period), along with the editors and myself, will be reviewing and scoring each and every one of those posts. So... you could say that now the "heavy lifting" starts.

After the review period is over, the next step is to obtain blog author permissions to use their works in the Anthology and then start with the assembly of the Anthology. All the while, I'll be looking for artists who are willing to contribute to this project by creating illustrations to accompany the blog posts themselves.

So, without further ado - and in the interest of transparency - here's the list of the unique blog posts that were nominated to be included in the next volume of Open Game Table. Wohoo!!
Please Note: If you are a blog author, and you (for whatever reasons) expect that you will not release permissions to use your work in the Anthology, please contact me ASAP so that I can withdraw your nomination. It will save us a lot of time since there are so many nominations to review. Also - I have not verified any of these links yet - this is the raw list. So, I have no idea is any of these are NSFW (probably not - but you never know).

  1. What an honor to once again be considered!
One of the nominated posts made it last year, the token making tutorial one... So you may want to remove it from the list...
Bunch of great authors and content here, it's going to be a wonderful book.

  2. I'm honored to be submitted as well, I'm looking forward to seeing how this turns out!

  3. Looking at all these articles - I wonder if most of mine should even be on the list. I tend to post ideas & material to drop into a game with little or no prep time. A lot of these entries look like higher-level discussion about the philosphy and approaches to the game. :-S

  4. Wow! Fantastic. If just one post of Deadly Fredly's was to be considered, that's the one I'd hope for. Thanks very much for the nomination, and for sharing the list.

  5. I have to say that this was entirely unexpected -- thanks for the recognition!

  6. Everyone who blogs about RPGs, in whatever form, deserves to be nominated. It's just such a great community to be part of - I mean... hell, I don't know how much of an impact we had - but RPGDriveThru raised over $50000 for Haiti at least in part to the blogging we did to cover it.

Also, for the record, I have a very minimal role in whether or not something makes it into the Anthology. For one, the peer reviewing team makes the first round of scores. The editorial board (myself, kameron, berin, and ben) then decide on where the cutoff line is and how many articles to accept. So, I probably have less of an influence on the final selections that I did last year.
