Wanted: Contributors & Guest Bloggers

The Core Mechanic is looking for contributors! Along the road back to daily posts, I realized that I am not a bottomless font of words. One-shot guest blogs, or regular contributors, are both welcome additions. So, exercise those writing chops, and if you are an RPG enthusiast who follows and enjoys this blog; drop me a line and let me know. Click "CONTACT" above and let me know you are interested.

Contributing to TCM is a great way to start blogging if your new to the community or to provide some cross blog connections if you already have an RPG blog of your own.

All inquiries will be considered.

Best Regards,
Jonathan.

  1. I might offer my services. I've got a blog starting out that isn't affiliated with the network yet, and I wouldn't mind doing a little cross marketing. I lean towards non-d&d stuff mostly, but you can check it out through my profile.

  2. Same here. I'm fairly new to D&D, though I did dabble a bit in 3/3.5.
My main interest lies not in altering or making new rules, but in generating ideas that operate in the current system (or across multiple rule sets). My blog is kingworkscreative.blogspot.com if you want to get a feel for what I'm about.

  3. I might be up to try, but all I do is write homebrew. I'm not particularly insightful that I know of. I just gangrape a system's rules until they're just the way I want them to be.

  4. I can toss a guest post your way.

Not in the immediate future, though. Would be no earlier than late next week.

Let me know if that suits you.

  5. Hey all! Oh.. wow! I had no idea I would get this kind of response. between these four comments, I've received another dozen or so emails from folks as well. Very cool.

@helmsman : I'm happy to cross post link backs (something I do frequently). Since TCM is most a 4E blog, maybe we could be creative? Have you checked out any of the RPG blog carnivals yet? Either way, if you have an idea for something you would like to do -- please send me the pitch!

@kingworks : You in VA? LOL.. probably about a dozen of the RPG bloggers are in the DC area, me included. I'm interested in your "generating ideas that operate in the current system (or across multiple rule sets). " Send me an email and let me know what you have in mind.

@Wyatt - Welcome back! Spirits of Eden is really taking off, eh? And I would love it for some of your homebrew stuff to show up here. Maybe we could work together on a mini-series with a focused homebrew topic?

@Scott - 'Official 4E Monk' is in the PHB3; what do you think abot that? Any affect on your site at all? In anycase, are you working on anything related to the monk? That might be a good seed to build some cross site links, and maybe a post from you.

I'm trying to get back to _content_ and step away from _commentary_ for a while. Anything each of you would like to contribute in terms of content would be sweet. Send me an email and let me know what you are thinking. Ciao!

  6. What do you mean by blog carnivals specifically? I've never heard that term before.

  7. A blog carnival is an event where a group of blogs all post on the same topic for a month, then one person hosts a round up of all the links to all the articles; then passes the carnival on to another host for the next month, who also chooses the next topic.

    Check out this link for

The RPG Blog carnival is something I started last year, that has thankfully caught on and is still going. I think the Book of Rev is hosting the current carnival this month and the topic is "WAR!". Here's a link to my first post on blog carnies' from last year.

The RPG blogging community has a google group that I encourage you to join. We also have a common, shared carnival schedule - but I think the list of hosts is booked through to next year.

    hope that helps.

  8. I have a blog in which I make daily contributions to oldschool gaming and I would be glad to help out and throw something your way if it would help out.
